July 1, 1940 – February 19, 2012
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, February 23, 2012, at St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Clearwater for Ronald R. “Ron” Wicks, age 71, of Clearwater, who passed away on Sunday, February 19, 2012. Reverend Steven Hoffman will officiate. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery.
Family and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the Daniel Funeral Home in Clearwater and after 9:30 a.m. on Thursday at the church. A rosary will be held at 4:00 p.m. followed by parish prayers at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home in Clearwater.
Ron was born in Denver Colorado on July 1, 1940 to Edward and Mary (Clapp) Wicks. He married Janice Jansky on February 20, 1965. He owned and operated Denver Discount Tires for many years. He was a member of St. Luke’s Catholic Church.
Ron lived his life in the pursuit of making his family happy.
Ron is survived by his loving wife; son, Jason; daughter, Liana (Joe) Henkel; three grandchildren; and brother, Wes.

I’ve known Ron for more than 30 years and was a supplier to his business in Denver. I have fond memories of our times together over those many years. He will be dearly missed and my prayers go out to his family in this time of grief. Thank you Ron for being such a true friend. With All Our Love.
Ron, Jan and Family have always been a part of our past and family. We are very sad, and even more sad that we did not see Ron in so many years. What I remember most is Ron’s love for hunting, his cars, his big garage in the backyard and the cool tire shop on Broadway in Denver. Our thoughts go out to Aunt Jan, Lianna and Jason.
