Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, December 7th at 11:30 AM at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church in St. Cloud for Ronald S. Kerr, age 79, of St. Cloud, who died on Thursday at Talahi Senior Campus in St. Cloud. Rev. Aaron Kuhn will officiate. Inurnment will be in Assumption Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday between 4:00-8:00 PM and on Monday after 9:30 AM at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud. Knights of Columbus Council # 961 will pray at 6:00 PM followed by the Parish Prayers at 7:00 PM.
Ron was born September 30, 1930 in Carlisle, Pennsylvania to Chester and Grace (Kerns) Kerr. He married Marlene Borgert on June 16th, 1956 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Browerville. Ron received his Masters in Math in 1962 from the University of South Carolina and was employed as a Math Teacher where he “taught kids” at St. Cloud Tech High School from 1955-1985. He has been a resident of St. Cloud all of his married life. Ron was a member of St. Augustine’s Catholic Church, American Legion Post 76, Knights of Columbus Council # 961, St. Augustine’s Men’s Group, and Ushers Club.
Ron was very involved in the St. Cloud area where his activities included teaching religious Ed, drivers ed and private tutoring. He was an adjunct teacher for St. Cloud Technical College, past president of St. Cloud Teachers Assn., past member of St. Cloud Sertoma Club and life member of MEA.
Survivors include his wife Marlene, children, Stephen Kerr (Shelly) San Antonio, Texas, Michael Kerr (Laurie) Zimmerman, Christopher Kerr, St. Cloud, Jeffrey Kerr (Denise) Clear Lake, brother and sisters, George Kerr (Sara) Pennsylvania, Cheryl Brickner (Donald) North Carolina, and Jeanne Finkenbinder, Pennsylvania, 10 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Kenneth Kerr and one sister Sonja Kerr.
The family would especially like to thank staff at the St. Cloud Home and Hospice and the Memory Care Unit at Talahi Senior Campus for their extraordinary care in their time of need.

I have just learned of the death of Mr. Kerr. He was my math teacher at Technical High School and may have been my patient driving instructor, too. I transferred to Technical High School in my junior year, from a small town high school. Several teachers offered to tutor me until I caught up to the standards of Tech High. Mr. Kerr was one of the teachers and I always remembered his kindness and patience toward a new student. My career has taken me through the educational world, and I appreciated the guidance from my Tech High teachers. My sympathy to the Kerr family.
