Rose was born November 22, 1938 in Duelm, Minnesota to Walter and Frances (Kieke) Winkelman.  Rose married Donald H. Neutgens on November 27th, 1957 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Duelm.  They lived in St. Cloud most of their married lives.  Rose was a homemaker and successfully sold World Book Encyclopedias rising to District Manager. She then started working for Nutrition World health food stores in the 1970’s, quickly becoming the St. Cloud store manager, making it one of the top producing stores in the company.  After retirement, she continued working at the health food department of Coburns Grocery.

She was an active member of St. Augustine’s Catholic parish. She loved all church activities and made lifelong friends there.  She volunteered there in many ways including teaching Sunday School, prayer groups, and served in many offices of the Christian Women. Along with her husband Don, she was active in the parent support group for St. Augustine’s elementary wrestling team (having had two sons participating in the sport). She was proud to be a Eucharistic minister and loved the support she received from the community.

Rose loved to fish and spent time on the water. She also loved to travel and did so extensively with her husband Don and later with her children and friends.  Special trips included those to Europe, Medjugoria, Brazil, the Bahamas and China as well as many trips within the US.

Rose is survived by her children, Sandra (John Swanson) of Scandia, Christi (Rolf Bolstad) of Minneapolis, Therese (Nedjo Spaic) of Palmer, AK, Kurt of Kansas City, MO, Kevin (Lisa Rhodes) of New Berlin,  WI; grandchildren, Ana (Felipe Rodrigues), Marija, Katarina (Alex Guzman), Tomo (Marie-Sophie), Tatijana, Luka, Sofija Spaic, Violet Neutgens, Isaiah Neustrom (Cate), Tyler Rose, Corbin, and Shane Neutgens; great grandchildren, Nicola and Gabriel Spaic Rodriguez, and Raelyn and Ransom Neustrom, sister Marjorie Gadacz of Foley; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Dear Ones, John and I wish to express our condolences to all of you as you grieve the death of your mom. Rose was such a gracious woman, Benedictine in her sense of hospitality! We enjoyed the occassional cup of coffee with her. And we very much appreciated all of the babysitting you did for us so many years ago. We pray that your memories of fun family times together will help ease the pain of this parting. It is but a thin veil that separates so know that Mom is near you even though you may not see her! She joins the communion of saints and is in good company! Love to each of you.
