October 24, 1954 – May 9, 2008

Memorial services will be on Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Rejoice Lutheran Church in Clearwater for Steven L. Bergren, age 53 of Clearwater who passed away on Friday, May 9, 2008 at his home after a long battle with cancer. Reverend Scott Gjevre will officiate. Inurnment will be at Mount Hope Cemetery, Clearwater.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the Daniel Funeral Home, Clearwater and after 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the church.

Steven was born on October 24, 1954 in Burlington, Iowa to Marcus and Dorothy (Mehaffy) Bergren. He married Debra A. Briese on July 31, 2004 in Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gibbon. The couple lived in Albertville until moving to Clearwater in 2007. Steven enjoyed playing with his dog Harley and his weekends at swap meets in Minnesota and Iowa selling his 50’s and 60’s memorabilia. The time he enjoyed the most was riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle. He was also a great cook and conversationalist.

Survivors include his wife, Debbie of Clearwater; son, Brady; parents; brother, Mike (Karen) all of Mediapolis, Iowa; sister, Chris (Steve) Laue of Burlington, Iowa and brother, Junior (Marilyn) of Texas.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Kenneth, Jeffrey and Robert.

Memorial services will also be held on Friday, May 16, 2008 at 7:00 PM at Immanuel Lutheran Church located at 606 North Orchard in Mediapolis, IA. Pastor Jerleen Schlesser will officiate.
