I have always enjoyed working with Tom at the City Hall for the Cable Commision. Over the years of working with Tom we be came great friends. My prayers are with you at this time of sorrow. Tom will be missed by many.

Thomas R. Nahan

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in St. Joseph for Thomas R. Nahan, age 73 of St. Joseph who passed away on Friday, December 16, 2011 at the St. Cloud Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Reverend Joseph Feders, OSB will officiate. Private entombment will take place at the Assumption Cemetery Mausoleum.
Family and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Monday at the Daniel Funeral Home in ST. CLOUD and after 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the church. Parish prayers will be at 7:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home in ST. CLOUD.
Tom was born on November 22, 1938 in St. Cloud, Minnesota to James and Florence (Schepers) Nahan, Sr. Tom started working at the age of ten delivering papers and shining shoes at a barbershop. During High School he worked at Ihli Sinclair Gas Station, he graduated from Cathedral High School in 1956 and joined the Air Force. Tom attended St. Mary’s School of Radiologic Technology and graduated from St. Cloud Hospital School of Radiologic Technology. He married Sheila M. Leason on September 24, 1966 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Foley. Tom worked in the X-Ray field for over 30 years, retiring as Assistant Manager of Radiology at the St. Cloud Hospital in 1993. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Parish and St. Cloud Eagles Aerie #622. Tom served on the Parish Council, St. Joseph Planning Commission, St. Joseph Cable Commission, St. Cloud Hospital Credit Union Loan Advisory Board and he started the practice of videotaping and broadcasting the Mass in St. Joseph.
Survivors include his loving wife, Sheila; children, Tina of St. Joseph, Tim (Crystal) of Sartell, Stacie (Ron) Bartels of Albany; four grandchildren, Kayla and Megan Bartels and Olivia and Sophia Nahan; brothers and sisters, James of St. Cloud, Betty (Art) Warren of St. Cloud, Marge (Ollie) Lesnick of St. Joseph, Richard of St. Cloud, Rosie (Mel) Lovitz of Sauk Rapids, Emmalou (Herb) Torborg of St. Joseph; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; infant brother; two sisters-in-law, Helen and Ursala; nieces, Lisa and Ann McGuire.
Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.
