Timothy J. Montgomery

Memorial Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Timothy J. Montgomery, age 79, of Waite Park, MN with be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in St. Cloud, MN. Reverend Derek Wiechmann will officiate. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 15 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and will resume Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. until the time of mass. Inurnment will take place immediately following mass, at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Little Falls, MN.
Timothy (Tim) was born on July 25, 1945, in Cleveland, OH to Leonard and Irene (Maleski) Montgomery. He graduated in 1963 from St. Edward High School in Lakewood, Ohio. Following graduation, Tim enlisted in the U.S. Army where he served in Vietnam and was honorably discharged in 1966. He was very proud and honored to have served his country.
On September 2, 1967, Tim married the love of his life, Marie Kara, in Cleveland, OH. They were blessed with three sons, Timothy, David, and Ryan.
Tim was employed in medical sales most of his career. He was an exceptional salesman, often winning sales contests where he earned wonderful trips to Cancun, San Francisco, Denmark and London for him and his wife, Marie. Before retiring to Minnesota in 2010, the couple lived in Wisconsin, Tennessee, and Maryland. He was a member of Holy Spirit Parish, Holy Spirit Knights of Columbus Council 12098, and the Waite Park American Legion Post #428.
Tim enjoyed doing beautiful diamond art, fishing, and playing card games with family. He had a special place in his heart for pets and all animals. Above all, he treasured time with his family. His love for his wife, Marie, was always shining through. They would often be seen holding hands as they walked and loved spending time together. He also took great pride in his sons, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Marie; sons, Tim of Oregon, David (Vicki) of Monticello, MN, Ryan (Lauren) of Georgia; eight grandchildren, Tarsha (Denny) Choate, Sean (Rachel), Justin (Elyse), Derek (Lillie), Benjamin, Ethan, Grayson, Rylee; 11 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Judy Montgomery of Tennessee; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Tim was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Leonard, and Robert; infant triplet sisters; great-grandson Noah; sister-in-law Mildred Herrmann Turcus; and brothers-in-law, Don Herrmann and Tim Turcus.
