Vern D. Lambrecht

Funeral services will be on Monday, June 26, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Swanville for Vern D. Lambrecht, age 61 of Burtrum who died Thursday, June 22, 2006 at his home. Reverend John Grein will officiate. Burial with military honors will be in the Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery in Swanville.

Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Sunday and after 10:00 a.m. on Monday at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Swanville. There will be a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday at the church. Arrangements were by the Daniel Funeral Home, St. Cloud.

Vern was born on April 16, 1945 in Little Falls, Minnesota to Adelbert and Laura (Nordin) Lambrecht. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War serving on the USS Bryce Canyon. Vern married Cheryl J. Veldkamp on October 20, 1972 at the Evangelical Free church in Burtrum and they later divorced. He was employed as a truck driver by Maciej Construction and later by Houle Construction. Vern was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, T & M Riders Saddle Club, the Swanville American Legion Post #313 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #6037.

Survivors include his children, Michele “Missy” (David) Gorka of Burtrum, Mike (Julie) of Burtrum and Kelly (Ryan) Hanson of Long Prairie; eight grandchildren, Darrin, Alicia, Samantha, Angela, Nathan, John, Shane and Kristopher; his father, Adelbert of Burtrum; brothers and sisters, LeRoy (Debra) of Swanville, Warren of Chino Hills, California, Ken (Cheryl) of Burtrum, Karen (Jack) Ring of Little Falls, Kayla Sobiech of Randall, Brenda (Dennis) Schmidt of Swanville, Sheila Maciej of Swanville, Wanda (Leonard) Holmquist of Long Prairie; sister-in-law, Shelly Lambrecht of Long Prairie.

He was preceded in death by his mother, one brother, Darwin “Buzz”, brother-in-law, David Maciej and an infant grandchild.
