Cristy, you have our deepest sympathy. Although we did not know your dad, if you are any reflection of him we are certain he was the most thoughtful caring person as you are.

Bill was born on March 10, 1946 in St. Paul, Minnesota to the late Edmund and Myra (Schmidt) Gerard and raised in St. Cloud.
Bill spent most of his working years as a cook, being able to combine his passion for food and sharing that with family and friends, was one of his greatest joys. To laugh with Bill was to really know Bill. Humor was the avenue to the beginning of most of his friendships.
Bill married his wife, Laurie Faust in 1973 and renewed their vows in 1995. Bill had a love for the outdoors and being in his garden.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Laurie (Faust) Gerard; sons, John (Brandi) Nystrom, Andrew Gerard; daughters, Angie (Dale) Montgomery, Robin (Ted) O’Neil, Andrea Zabinski, Kim Gerard, Cristy (Corey) Maselter, Santina Matezevich; 27 grandchildren; sister, Laurie (Andy) Ziebol.
Bill will be deeply missed but never forgotten by his family.
A Special Thank You to the Staff at the St. Cloud Hospital Hospice for the gentle care given to our Dad.
Guestbook
I was so sorry to hear of Bill’s passing…My heart goes out to all of his family and the others who loved him.. It is so very hard to say Goodbye to someone we Love.
My Dad was so caring and thoughtful to everyone he met. He left such an impression on people with his sense of humor and kindness. If you needed it, he gave it to you. Besides my Mom and his family, he absolutely loved shooting a game of pool and watching the Vikings, both of which he has passed on to me. Miss you and love you Dad.
rest in peace bill . we have lots of wonderful memories…
I am so very sad, Bill, that you had to leave here so early. I will not forget you. May God hold you and may you rest in peace.
My thoughts and prayers go out to the entire Gerard family. Bill’s legacy will live on through his amazing children. May God bless you all in this difficult time.
Just an old friend from days gone by, remembering a man who was so kind and loved by everyone who knew him. May he rest in peace and the gates of heaven open to receive him.
Uncle Bill was truly the type of person who lit up the room. No matter what he always found the good in people and made people around him feel special and loved. We lost a great man and your memory will live on in everyone’s heart you have met in life..Much Love to you uncle Bill..
May Jesus’ loving arms comfort you all. I’m praying for you dear ones.
Dad taught me so many things, especially how to cook and a passion for gardening. He brought joy and laughter to so many that knew him. I will miss him always.
I will deeply miss hearing him say “I love you more”. I pray he’s wrapped in Gods love and forgiveness. Im so thankful for you all.
