Yvette Marie Potter

July 20, 1940 – March 29, 2013

Memorial services will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at the Daniel Funeral Home in Clearwater, MN for Yvette Marie Potter, age 72, of Clearwater. She died on Friday, March 29, 2013 at the St. Cloud Hospital with her family at her side. The Reverend Steven Hoffman of St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Clearwater will officiate. Inurnment will be at a later date. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4 P.M. until 7 P.M. at the Daniel Funeral Home in Clearwater.

Yvette was born on July 20, 1940 in St. Boniface, Manitoba, Canada the daughter of Octave and Annette (Frechette) Laurin. She attended school at St. Boniface until as a teenager she moved with her parents to North Minneapolis in 1955. She attended North High School and graduated in 1958. She was united in marriage to Stephen Potter on November 12, 1958. They then made their home in Buffalo, MN where their three children were born. She always considered her three children to be her biggest accomplishment.

As a young woman, she worked in downtown Minneapolis. She also owned and operated a custom drapery shop in Buffalo, MN for several years. The family lived in Port Charlotte, FL for a few years before settling back in Wright County, MN. Her final and favorite occupation was being an important part of T.J. Potter Trucking from its inception in 1984, working in administration until retiring.

Better known as Memeŕe (French for Grandmother) she enjoyed spending time with her children, and grandchildren.  An avid craft person and seamstress, she in recent years found a great passion for knitting.  Many friends and all of her family proudly wear the product of her love and talent.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband Stephen (Styke) on December 1, 1991, sister, Irene and two brothers; Fern and Denis.

She is survived by her children, Stephen (Melissa) Potter and, Todd (Barb) Potter both of Clearwater, Kelly (Steven) Bruggeman of Annandale, MN, nine grandchildren, Kyle, Ashley, Derek (Jenna), Brian, Shane, Michael, Cole, Kaleen, and Dawson, her mother Annette Laurin and, one sister Leonne (Jerry) Thole both of Florida, other relatives and many friends.

we are sorry and saddened by your loss, she was such a fine person. we will always remember her.

She must have been an amazing woman! She raised 3 loving, caring children who have gone on to raise beautiful children of their own!

Our hearts are heavy with sorrow for your loss. May you find comfort in knowing that her spirit will remain with all of you helping you to know that she is in a better place, free of pain and watching over you from above until you are together again.

I’m so sorry for you loss, Yvette was a wonderful person and she will be greatly missed. I met her years ago when she helped Pauline sew dresses for her marriage to Jerome. I’ve not seen her recently but we spoke on the phone a few times. Again I’m so sorry for your loss
