Mary Ann Juenemann

May 17, 1934 – December 4, 2020

Mary Ann Juenemann, 86, of Sartell died Friday, December 4, 2020 at Country Manor.

A private Mass of Christian Burial will be 1 p.m. on Friday, December 18, 2020 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in St. Cloud.  Reverend Joseph Herzing will officiate.  Entombment will take place in the Assumption Cemetery Mausoleum in St. Cloud.

Mary Ann was born May 17, 1934 in St. Cloud, MN to George & Louise (Steinhauser) Juenemann.  She graduated from Cathedral High School in 1952 and from St. Cloud Hospital School of Nursing in 1955.  After graduation, she moved to San Francisco and worked as a nurse in several medical facilities in the bay area for nearly forty years.  She also volunteered as an usher at the San Francisco Metropolitan Opera House and at the Marina in Monterey, CA.

In 1999 she moved to Lake Delton, WI to be part of the Endeavor Academy community.  In 2017 she moved back to Minnesota to be near family after encountering health issues.

Mary Ann loved to travel and has been all over the world.  In Africa, she went on safari and rode a camel to visit the ancient tombs.  She also visited Rome, the Holy Land, Russia, and China.  She has been on most people’s dream trips.  She enjoyed many forms of art, particularly opera.  She had a fondness for angel art and presenting them as gifts to family & friends.

She will be greatly missed by the surviving family, including a brother, Robert (Mary) Juenemann of Farmington, MN; a sister, Lois Kalusche-Deziel of Sartell; seven nieces & nephews, and many great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by both parents, and two brothers-in-law Richard Kalusche, and Dale Deziel.

Many, many thanks to the CentraCare Health Hospice and the Country Manor staff!

Our condolences from Michigan

Sorry to hear Mary Ann passed away. I guess she was my favorite cousin especially since we had the same name. I always remember our trips to Minnesota to see our cousins especially the last visits. Remember the last trip Mary Ann and family came to Ohio for a cousins get together in 2008. Bob, Mary, Lois and your families are in our thoughts and prayers.

Mary Ann loved the arts, for all the years we spent together in San Francisco she tried to get me to attend the opera and for all the years I knew her I quietly resisted. Despite our differences in music we remained good friends enjoying activities, events and meals we both liked. After she left California our friendship continued through frequent warm phone conversations. As a recipient of several angel gifts, when I look at them now it is a reminder of her gentle, caring and generous nature. She will be deeply missed.
My deepest condolences to the family.
Linda Tom
