Pearl E. Gades

Memorial Services celebrating the life of Pearl E. Gades, 100, of Sartell and formerly of Benson will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 27, 2022 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in St. Cloud.  Pearl passed away peacefully, with her daughter by her side, on December 26, 2021 at Country Manor in Sartell.  Reverend Jeb Reiter will officiate.  Burial will be at a later date in Benson.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Friday at the church.  Arrangements are with Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud.

Pearl was born on December 7, 1921 in Morris, Minnesota to the late Edwin and Jessie (Geer) Asmus.   She married Delmer Gades on May 27, 1942 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Friberg Township.  They farmed in Danvers until retirement, when they moved to Benson. Pearl was employed with Fingerhut in Benson, Jennie-O Foods in Willmar and Swift County Homes in Benson.  After 63 years of marriage, Delmer passed away and Pearl moved to Sartell to be near family. 

Pearl enjoyed crocheting, ceramics, drawing, doing puzzles and playing cards.  She also enjoyed volunteering at County Manor.  She will be remembered as a loving, devoted and hard-working wife, mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her sons, Sandy (LaVonne) of Farmington, Arlan of Annandale, Dalton of Grove City, Dean (Sandy) of Sauk Rapids; daughter, Colleen (Richard) Krassas of Sartell; 13 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Delmer in 2005; brothers, Edwin Jr., Billy and Ted Asmus; and sisters, Martha Danielson, Caroline Billings and Ellen Boyer.
