Ruth "Sharon" Krantz

December 15, 1939 – March 7, 2021

A private memorial service will be held to celebrate the life of Ruth “Sharon” Krantz, 81, of Paynesville who passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 7, 2021 at the St. Cloud Hospital.  Reverend Glenn Krystosek will officiate.  
 
A public visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at the Daniel-Anderson Funeral Home in Paynesville.
 
Sharon was born on December 15, 1939 in Detroit, Michigan to Robert and Ruth (Herstrom) Vedder.   She married Jerome “Smokey” Krantz on July 30, 1960 in Michigan. They moved to Lake Henry, Minnesota in 1974 and to the metro area in 1986.  Sharon returned to the Paynesville area in 2006.  
 
Sharon enjoyed playing cards with her card club friends, doing word finds and above all treasured time with loved ones, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  In her earlier years, she also enjoyed the outdoors and camping with family and friends. She will be remembered for her sense of humor and unique gifts.
 
She is survived by her children, Jerry (Wendi) Krantz of Elk River, Kelly Johnson of Paynesville; grandchildren, Rick (Anne) Krantz, Sean Krantz (Adam Parsons), Cassandra Johnson (Luis Nunez), Kylie (Jake)Young; great grandchildren, Tyler, Kolten, Easton, Adrian, Santana and Ximena; and siblings, Barbara Hutter, Robert (Elaine) Vedder and Larry (Jean) Vedder all of Michigan.
 
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Smokey in 2005; son, Gary in 1970; and brother-in-law, Robert Hutter.
 
A heartfelt thank you to the Litchfield Dialysis Group.
 
Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers to the Rose Center in Paynesville.

me again i just wanted to say a couple more words we all miss her very much she was a great women did not let anyone push her around you could say she was a badass man we all miss her and i bet kelly and jerry miss her more than i do like that was there mom r.i.p MA we’ll miss you

Sharon was definitely one of a kind! Though we were not truly related my children loved and adored Sharon and will always remember and refer to you as Gramdma Sharon. You will always hold a special place in mine and my families heart. Heaven gained a beautiful angel. My heartfelt prayers to Sharon’s family as they grieve their loss. May you feel Gods comfort and love surround you.

i was really close to her she was a amazing person it is really hard to lose her.she was funny cool and nice i will miss her

Sharon had been a great friend for 45 years and we had great fun and long visits! I will truly miss her.

We will miss this lady so much at dialysis…she was one of a kind, fun, generous to a fault. Prayers for comfort to your family!
