I am so sorry for your loss. I wish could have gone to her funeral. In the two years since, I still think about Sophie: her humor, her talent, and her kindness to me. She will not be forgotten. May she find peace where she is.

October 4, 2006 – July 12, 2021
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 24th, 2021 at Celebration Lutheran Church in Sartell for Sophie Anne Wieland, age 14, of Sartell. Sophie passed away on July 12, 2021. Pastor Jeff Sackett will officiate.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, July 23 and after 11 a.m. on Saturday, both at Celebration Lutheran Church in Sartell.
Sophie was born October 4, 2006 in St. Cloud to Henry and Aimee (Lillo) Wieland. She completed 8th grade at Sartell Middle School and was about to enter high school. She was actively involved in many activities at school including student council, Academic Triathlon, Knowledge Bowl, SMS Tech Team and Equity Club.
Sophie participated in many sports including hockey, soccer, cross country and track. She was also a volunteer for MN Wild Special Hockey, helping on the ice.
Sophie was a life-long member of Celebration Lutheran Church in Sartell. She was baptized there and was actively involved with teaching Sunday School, VBS, choir and ushering.
Sophie was a very talented musician, was involved with Suzuki violin since age 5 and played flute in the middle school band. She performed in numerous violin concerts with St. Cloud Suzuki Studios, at her school and Christmas concerts at the St. Cloud VA Medical Center nursing home.
Sophie was a very kind, generous, thoughtful, funny, sweet and caring young lady. She was generous in death by donating her corneas and heart valves. Everyone loved Sophie. She was a devoted friend, sister, daughter, granddaughter and cousin. She will be deeply missed.
Sophie is survived by her parents, Aimee and Henry; siblings, Rachel and Jacob; maternal grandparents, Thomas and Connie Lillo of Bemidji, MN; paternal grandmother, Marie Wieland of Dickinson, ND; aunts and uncles, Krista Lillo of Bemidji, Michael (Karly) Lillo of Brainerd, and Michelle Wieland of El Paso, TX; and cousins, Isaac, Caleb, Noah, Eli, and Josie Klinke; Payton and Addison Lillo; and Connor (Daniela) Clifford. And special cousin Journey. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Milton Wieland.
Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers to the Tanner’s Team Foundation or the St. Cloud Suzuki Studio.
